Lost dog... hit and run!!! in Seneca Falls, New York

My dog was hit at 10PM on October 25th on Rt 318 in front of Junius Ponds Campgrounds. The driver fled as he saw me running to the road, a witness stopped but was not very helpful! We have no idea where Gooch may be but we have searched the area over and over and have come up with nothing. We think he ran as he was in shock and scared but thinking he may have not gone far as the thruway is not far behind the house and it is fenced? Not sure where he is or if he is okay. Anyone who may have seen him please call local vet or dog warden. He is wearing a thick black collar and is up to date on rabies shot, Thank you.
